Phoenix Suns 107 – San Antonio Spurs 101

(7-2)

The most recent time the Phoenix Suns played on Mother’s Day was the last time the Suns made the playoffs: 2010. Following a 4-2 series win over the Portland Trailblazers, the Suns won three straight over the San Antonio Spurs setting up the opportunity to sweep their hated rivals. Two-time MVP Steve Nash finished the Spurs off with a 10-point and five-assist fourth quarter, the kind of quarter that winning teams need and that MVP’s are supposed to be able to provide.

Next: The Suns should target Steven Adams in trade

The victory on Mother’s Day was the first series clincher on the holiday for the franchise, and probably the most satisfying as it was the first time in the Steve Nash era that the Suns were able to get by the team who had actually grown to be an even worse rival than the Los Angeles Lakers – the very team the Suns would face next in the Western Conference Finals.
