Phoenix Suns 2018 offseason plans Part 3: Free Agency
By Adam Maynes
Tyreke Evans
I have been on the Tyreke Evans bandwagon for some time now and I think that he would be a tremendous fit on the Suns, if he is will to accept a reserve role.
With Brandon Knight coming back from his ACL injury, it may still take several months into the season to finally be anywhere near full strength and the kind of point guard that would warrant a starting spot. Even if Phoenix drafts a point guard or two, they might not have the talent yet to take the starting spot and help the team win right away as well, meaning that the point guard position is once again vulnerable.
By signing Evans, not only would the Suns be adding a veteran player who can play both the point guard and shooting guard positions, but also someone who could be counted on to start at point for some time while the other point guards are getting themselves ready. Evans is a very good outside shooter too which would make the backcourt combination of he, Devin Booker, and Troy Daniels a serious shooting trio which opens up the inside for bigs and slashers.
