Scouting Report. Center. . player. 142. Pick Analysis. Mitchell Robinson. 15

It seemed like Gortat was a dead man walking all year.  His inability to shoot the long ball combined with his deteriorating skills made for an odd fit with the Wiz.  His game 3 performance against the Raptors might help him buy another year, but he’s clearly not the long-term answer at center.  Robinson is going to be an interesting prospect.  His measurements should stand out and if he can show a little touch during workouts he is probably a mid-first round selection.  Having a year to learn behind Gortat might make this a good situation for all involved.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Small Forward. Bosnia & Herzegovina. Dzanan Musa. 14. player. 73

I could easily see the Nuggets taking SGA here because he’s the best remaining player, but they have bigger needs at small forward than point and they’re close enough to the playoffs to justify prioritizing positions of need.  The Joker makes the equation simple.  You just surround him with as many quality shooters and passers as possible.  Musa fits the mold to a T.  His defense is probably not what they want long-term, but the offensive talent is too great to ignore.

Kentucky. 13. 77. Power Forward. Pick Analysis. Kevin Knox. player. Scouting Report

The Clippers thought they were getting a sweet shooting power forward when they acquired Gallenari and that has proven to be less than fruitful.  Grabbing Knox might provide them with the versatility they were looking for.  Williams, Harris, and Knox would make for a very versatile front court who can fill up the offensive stat line.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 12. player. 77. Center. Texas A&M. Robert Williams

Even though Williams was a complete disappointment at A&M down the stretch I can’t help but feel that he’s going to rise in the rankings as teams get a closer look at him.  His athleticism and skills are super tempting.  The team needs someone to replace DeAndre down low and Williams can immediately fill a number of those gaps including the highlight jams.   If he can develop a jumper and become more assertive he could really surprise some people.

Pick Analysis. Villanova. 11. player. 170. Scouting Report. Small Forward. Mikal Bridges

Bridges shouldn’t fall this far, but if he does I can’t imagine the Hornets would let him go any further.  You get a guy whose probably not going to be a focal point of your team, but who should be basically flawless in what he does on both ends.  I like the Otto Porter comparisons to his game.  It’s just simple basketball and it’s really effective.  If the Hornets hang onto Kemba and if Monk can develop into the shooting guard they need, then Bridges can be a really nice fit on an emerging young core.
