Phoenix Suns 2018 offseason plans Part 2: Trades
By Adam Maynes
Troy Daniels
It should also be noted that in the last year of a very friendly contract, Troy Daniels may also be a potential trade piece this summer – as many thought he would be at the trade deadline in February – as his outside shooting (he shot 40.3% last season and owns a 40.1% 3-point shooting average on his career) would certainly be a very valuable piece for a team competing for the playoffs and/or a championship.
Granted, the hope is that the Suns are competing for the playoffs this coming season and having Daniels come off the bench to shoot daggers at his opponents would be equally as advantageous for Phoenix as it would be for another team. But if a team offered McDonough an asset that he can’t turn down, or Daniels needed to be included in a package for a star, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he is moved at some point as well.

Ryan McDonough has stated publicly that he expects there to be some serious turnover on the roster and that he is looking to re-shape the team surrounding the core players of Booker, Jackson, (and yes, he has even mentioned Warren in that same breath). Trades will certainly be at the core of that re-shaping as the necessity to move at least one contract to make room for others is highly likely.
However many, or few, trades are made remain to be seen. But knowing that McDonough wants to nearly re-create the roster in a different image should bring a lot of excitement to a fanbase desperate for a shake-up.
