T.J. Warren

There likely aren’t any other players on the roster than the trio of Chandler, Dudley, and Knight who have any significant odds of being traded. However, T.J. Warren seems to be a name oft-mentioned in offseason trade possibilities as his talent on the roster might be a little redundant with Josh Jackson playing the same role, and his age+contract would almost certainly make him an appealing trade target by many teams around the league (just ask the Orlando Magic).

If you have followed my opinions on Warren for any time now you though, you would know that my hope is for T.J. to remain on the roster and serve as the team’s sixth man, a role that many believe he would succeed in, specifically as the kind of depth scorer that all great teams need (not that the Suns are great – yet), and someone who is young enough to remain an integral part of the growth and developmental process for many years to come should the possibility of him being able to score 20+ points off the bench be something the Suns value (which, who wouldn’t value such a scorer?)

That being said, no one on the roster outside of the two potential untradables in Devin Booker and Josh Jackson holds more value on the trade market than Warren, and should an offer arise that significantly improves the roster (specifically the starting lineup) by including Warren in the package, I cannot imagine that McDonough would be too trigger-shy.
