The 2017-18 NBA season for the Phoenix Suns can be considered as a huge let down – and somehow that is an understatement.

The Phoenix Suns are in the middle of a rebuilding period, so losing can be expected. However, when you lose as much as they do it’s how  you lose that becomes the story and after a 61 losses this season (the second most in franchise history), the Suns had plenty of negative moments that defined them.

There were moments of promise which included impressive flashes by Dragan Bender, Josh Jackson, and Marquese Chriss.

Phases where Devin Booker channeled his inner James Harden running the offense to a T.

And times where Jared Dudley proved several that he is destined to lead a team from the sidelines someday.

On the flip side however, frustrations too revealed themselves.

Whether it be with injuries in ‘normal’ cases from Davon Reed to Alan Williams – or gruesome ones to Isaiah Canaan.

Losing by 40+ multiple  times, including the worst opening night loss in NBA history.

Going through growing pains with all of the young core of players such as Bender, Jackson, and Chriss.

And who could forget the embarrassing moment early in the season that included the words, “I don’t wanna be here.”

Regardless of what fans think the Suns should do in free agency, the draft, the coaching search, etc., many fans can agree that it is a joy that the team’s season is over. Sure, there were some bright spots, but the season in general was like an eclipse that blocked the team from success.

There are plenty of reasons to be glad that the season is over. Personally, these are my three.
