With the Hall of Fame announcing it’s 2018 entrants, the class had a decidedly Phoenix Suns flavor to it, one of historical proportions.

Several weeks ago, I wrote about Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill being among the 13 finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame. *UPDATE* All three have been chosen as inductees and will enter in this coming class. There are also two others entering the HoF with Suns ties.

In a nightmare season for these young Suns, dreams come true for four former players and one executive. In fact, it couldn’t get much sweeter than this for five guys that suited up for the franchise in Phoenix one way or the other and etched their names into the most glorious of shrines for any baller.

Nash, Kidd and Hill are on a list full of nostalgia from the 1990s that will soon be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Also entering are Charlie Scott and Rick Welts.

Of the players, only Steve Nash will enter as a no-doubter Phoenix Sun, the rest having had several successful individual seasons in Phoenix although their best years elsewhere. They all, however, did leave endellible marks on the franchise that will love with fans forever.

From Charlie Scott’s franchise leading career scoring-average, to Jason Kidd’s triple-double record; from Steve Nash’s revolution of the game to Grant Hill’s career resurgence, this group of former Suns stars earned their places in the Hall and in the heart of Valley Suns fans.

This class is a particularly special one as well. Phoenix’s four player entrants is a first in NBA history, as no class has ever had four players from one team enter in the same summer.

Take THAT, Lakers!

Let’s take a brief look back at the history of the four former Suns players and one Executive who are entireing the Hall of Fame this year.
