Five signs this season has been a success

Aside from Brandon Knight there were no major injuries to key assets that would affect trade values or jeopardize careers
If some crazy injury happens between now and the end of the season I do not take blame, but as of publishing, the Phoenix Suns have been healthy – relatively speaking – and it makes offseason trading all the more possible as the players in potential moves won’t have injuries that are stretching into next season killing value.
Of course Brandon Knight was on the trading block prior to the start of the 2017-18 season only to have a torn ACL end his year before it started – as well as end all hope of trading him until he is healthy.
However, outside of Alan Williams‘ injury (that he has returned from and was probably never going to be a trade piece anyway), and Isaiah Canaan‘s gruesome leg break (although again he was never going to be a trade piece), no Suns have not suffered from anything to dramatic that should affect trade value in any way. If McDonough have a trade in place to improve the roster, a nagging injury won’t cancel the move, or prevent one from even ever beginning.
With so many Suns players potentially on the trading block this offseason, having a full compliment of healthy talent will be highly important for McDonough as he works to significantly improve the roster.
