Can Tyler Ulis save his job?

In my opinion Tyler Ulis is gone after this season, but can he play to save his job? Could a great final ten games actually make a difference?

I do not dislike Ulis, but along with Marquese Chriss, he has just not taken enough of a step forward this season to warrant retention, and truthfully I believe that he has proven that he just isn’t that good – or at least that his size is going to prevent him from having anything more than an average backup point guard’s career.

But can he save his career in Phoenix? Can he retain a position on the roster next season with a good showing over these final ten games?

After missing nine of the team’s prior ten, Ulis has played in the last five. However, his has only has a combined  stat line of 23 points, 10 rebounds, 18 assists, and 3 steals in just under 73 minutes of play.

He is getting playing time now, and especially in those games when Devin Booker misses, he will probably get enough time to put up some decent stats.

Can he? Sure. Will he? Probably not. If he did would it save his position on the roster? It’s unlikely but it would be nice to see him perform well and at least make the decision of who the third point guard on the roster will be next season a little bit more difficult.
