Every competitive teams needs a good backup point guard to help keep the offense flowing while the starter is out. Could Shaq Harrison play himself into that ultimate role, or is he just a gap filler until this summer when they find a true backup (possibly Elfrid Payton) potentially pushing Shaq to the third point guard position.

What to watch for is what sets Shaq apart from other point guard the Suns have had for some time: he is a very good defensive player. Although not one to light up the stat sheet offensively – at least not so far – if he can just continue to facilitate the offense but be a lock down defender, then there is no reason to think that he cannot be on the roster and a role player for the Suns on some level next season.
