8. Allonzo Trier – Arizona/From Washington (6-5 205, 22-years-old)

Allonzo is your classic mixed bag. There is plenty of good but there is some bad sprinkled in there as well. Overall, he is definitely worth taking a chance on as a second round pick but teams have to be ready for him to possibly not pan out or do something that wouldn’t be so good for the team. He put up a 51-39-86 shooting line with 18.4 points, 3.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds per game. He only played 2 games against ranked competition and made 33% of his treys for 14.3 points in those games which shows he’s capable. Against Northern Arizona, his full plethora of skills was on display as he made 10 of his 13 shots, 2 treys, and scored 32 points along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. His physical tools are there as he has a 6-6 wingspan and 8-4 standing reach. On a sunny day, he could blossom into a slick slashing guard that can pop up from beyond the arc at a moment’s notice. On a rainy day, he doesn’t turn into what every one hoped he could be and fails drug tests. He’s worth the risk. Just understand, there is definitely risk. Maybe, staying in AZ would help him in the league. With a latter second round pick, he’s worth the gamble.
