1. Jevon Carter – West Virginia/From Illinois (6-2 205, 22-years-old)

Jevon is my top point guard prospect for the second round in regards to fit on the Suns. He has decent offense and is a shut down defender. This season he put up a 42-39-86 shooting line with 17 points, 6.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. In 10 games versus ranked teams he shot 40% from down town while keeping up his season averages. He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and with a 3.5 GPA also made the Academic All America Team. Carter is a theft and that was on full display earlier this season when he had 9 steals in a single game. The Suns could use perimeter defense and he would definitely supply that making him a great fit. It’s not just his defense either. He is only the fifth college player and first from a major conference to have more than 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 300 steals. Phoenix front office would be wise to bring him in. He’d be a steal in the second round.

Next: Will DeAndre Ayton's next game be with the Phoenix Suns?

That’s it for my positional pieces on who the Suns should consider with the plethora of second round picks. These pieces were written before March Madness started. Stay tuned for updates as the tournament progresses. Again, let me know what you think.
