Selected 4th overall, Alvan Adams took the NBA by storm. Averaging 19.0p/9.1r/5.6a/1.5b, he led all rookies in each category, running away with the Rookie of the Year award, earning 16.6pts of a possible 18.0.

In the 13th game of his career, Adams set a franchise record for the fastest triple-double in franchise history in terms of games (17 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists), a record that still stands for the fastest for a rookie in Suns history, and stood as the fastest for a new Sun until Kevin Johnson broke the record by three games in 1987.

Of course, KJ’s record was broken in February 2018 by Elfrid Payton.

Adams recorded a double-double in his first career game, totaling 31 on the season. He set a personal-best in scoring with 35 points in his ninth game, and set a regular season personal-best with 19 rebounds  against Chicago on February 17, although he topped it with 20 boards against the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals which sent the Suns to their first NBA Finals appearance.

Alvan Adams was selected to the 1976 Western Conference All-Star team, his only appearance in his career.
