SMALL – Suns trade Tyson Chandler for Jose Calderon, Channing Frye, Ante Zizic and Cavs 2018 1st round pick

Cleveland could use Chandler. A leader amidst their turmoil and one of the best rebounders in the league. They wouldn’t have to take on much to acquire him if they are willing to take on the rest of his deal. The Suns would relieve themselves of Frye and Calderon’s contracts after this season giving the Suns about $11M more spending money in free agency. Jose has proven that he is a very good long distance shooter (41% career) and a very good passer (four seasons with 8.3 plus assists). He would be welcome as another PG for the rest of this year should he be willing to stay.

The main return for Phoenix would be a 21-year-old prospect center that has size at 7-1 and his Euro and G-League numbers do show potential. Also, Cavs throw in their 1st round pick.

BIG – Marquese Chriss, Tyson Chandler and a 2018 1st round pick (via Miami) for Kevin Love

It is becoming very obvious that Kevin Love has out played his welcome in Cleveland, at least in the mind of other players and maybe in his own mind as well. Should the Cavs decide to part with him they could get a young freakishly athletic stretch PF, a solid rebounding vet and a 1st round pick. That’s not a shabby return. For the Suns, Love is out hurt for a while so he won’t mess with the chances at a high lottery pick this coming draft and could help immensely with Booker next year. He’s only 29 and for a player with his type of game that leaves him with several high level years in the tank.
