MIAMI HEAT

SMALL – Phoenix sends their own 2018 2nd round pick for Justise Winslow

Winslow has fallen out of favor in Miami and the Suns 2nd round pick will be close to 1st round value due to how high it will be. The Suns take a chance on another athletic, defensive forward with little risk. He hasn’t taken too many 3-point attempts this season but is making 40% of them and in 2016-17 pre injury, Winslow was averaging 10.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals. Why not take the chance?

BIG – Suns send Brandon Knight, Marquese Chriss and gives Miami their 2019 1st round pick back for Goran Dragic

Dragic didn’t have the best out from Phoenix and both sides could have handled it better. However, he has since said he’d be OK with coming back and with the Suns’ need for a improvement at PG you would have to think they’d accept an All Star back to the desert. Dragic is 31 but still has at least a couple more good years while Phoenix grooms a younger floor leader. Knight is only 26, a breath of fresh air in a change of scenery could do him well and when he was in Milwaukee he put up near All Star numbers. The Suns also give a young PF that would fit well in Miami’s style and give the Heat one of their picks back. Wins all around.
