The first is centered around the oft spoken of Aaron Gordon. It has been reported that the Orlando Magic would like a high first round pick for Gordon, which they would certainly not get from the Suns. However, Phoenix does have Milwaukee’s first round pick, Miami’s, and in 2021, Miami’s again. Packaging two of those with Chriss could potentially be enough to get Gordon here. If Orlando demands more, many fans have advocated for trading T.J. Warren with the recent growth of Josh Jackson and the expectation of Jackson supplanting Warren in the starting lineup by as early as next season.

Personally, I believe that fans are underselling the value that Warren has on a deep team and believe that Phoenix should avoid trading Warren for anyone if at all possible, however I am fully aware that it takes talent to trade for talent, and Gordon might be the very power forward that Phoenix thought they were getting when they drafted Marquese Chriss.

Who knows if that is enough to land Gordon, and there is also the factor that he is a restricted free agent this summer, he could demand a max contract, and his presence on the roster over the final stretch of the season will likely sink their own first round pick somewhat, but the temptation to make such a move is undoubtedly there.
