OUT – Kawhi Leonard
IN – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Josh Jackson, 2019 1st round pick (via Suns) and 2021 1st round pick (via Miami)

Why would San Antonio do this?

This was quite possibly the most shocking rumor to come out in the NBA in quite some time. Kawhi Leonard wanting out could very well be a completely bogus rumor. However, if there is any legitimacy to it at all then the Suns need to jump in with an offer before this sentence is typed.

MKG is only 24 and although his offense leaves much to be desired, he is a solid defender and could be better in a different environment. Josh Jackson is only 20, was the #4 overall pick last draft, and could be a very good starter especially on the Spurs where his potential would be maximized. Getting Kawhi in return would probably be the only situation where I’d be OK with letting the Spurs get their hands on Josh. Also, the Spurs would obtain two solid draft picks.
