The Bucks are a team interested in upgrading the center position, and of course DeAndre Jordan would be a boon for that roster, especially as they claw their way through the lower half of the weak Eastern Conference. They are currently the 8th seed in the East and are in need of all the help they can get with both Jordan and Chandler as suitable upgrades to a currently too young front court.

If the Bucks were desperate to obtain Chandler (presuming they don’t land Jordan), then I have offered in the past that Milwaukee drop some of the frontend trade restrictions on the first round pick that was shipped to Phoenix for Eric Bledsoe.

Yet it is that very first round pick that might make the Suns decide to ignore a call from the Bucks all-together.

Milwaukee has not taken that leap in the standings that they were hoping when they acquired (stole) Bledsoe from Phoenix. As I said, they are currently in 8th place (on January 22nd) and are tied for pick 15th in the draft, exactly in the heart of where their pick would be transferred to Phoenix this summer (11-16). The Suns want  the Bucks to struggle just enough to fall within that range so they can use that pick in 2018. If they trade Chandler to Milwaukee, then that might be the very boost Milwaukee needs to climb in the standings and leave that pick in the dust.

As Suns fans, we need to hope that the Bucks do not make any face-of-the-roster changing trades, like Jordan, or even solid upgrades like an acquisition of Chandler. If the Bucks stabilize right at about the 8th-10th place in the Eastern Conference, they will be right where the Suns need them to be able to receive their pick.
