In the end, just don’t do it
In the end, as I mentioned above, I would love to add Kemba Walker to the Suns presuming that it is after the season is through, Phoenix knows exactly where they will be selecting in the draft, and he does not cost the team one of their young assets.
The value of Kemba just does not equate giving up on what the team has built through tanking so far, and the ability to potentially find an even brighter star in the draft than Kemba – even as risky as that proposition is – outweighs the addition of an established point guard that can not by himself make the Suns into a perennial contender.
Next: How the Suns can pull off a trade for a star
Certainly, if Kemba Walker were 22, I would be more apt to demand that the team make the necessary move to add him to the team’s back court. But at this point, with so many additional necessary moves to make to add to a core of Kemba and Booker, as well as the cap flexibility the team will have if a trade isn’t made over the next couple of years to add to a roster plentiful with cheap, rookie contract talent, a trade for Kemba Walker just doesn’t make any sense right now.
