Field Goal percentage
In his three games prior to his January 2, benching, Jackson shot a measly 25.3% from the field (no wonder Triano could not trust him). Over that stretch he even failed to make a single 3-point attempt. Throughout the season to that point Jackson had only shot 37.8% from the field, a statistical average that is far from acceptable from a high volume scorer, even from a rookie.
But since? Jackson is shooting 48.6%, third best behind a non-center (Dragan Bender is number one and Isaiah Canaan is number two), and second best behind only Dragan Bender in players who have attempted at least 20 field goals over that stretch.
Moreover, through his first 38 games, in the time he has had the ball in his hand for two seconds or less, Jackson has shot 39.9%.
Over these three games? A whopping 71.4%!
Whether it’s confidence, better spacing, or forcing himself to take shots with a better rhythm and not forcing them, he has found a way to start putting the ball in the basket and an incredibly efficient clip.
Oh and by the way, on actual catch and shoots? He’s shooting 57.1%.
