Where did he  come from?

A career vagabond, Canaan came in and replaced a player who felt irreplaceable, Mike James.

Granted James was never a future point guard, but he had certainly earned an extension for the rest of the season following the expiration of his 2-way contract. Canaan, however, came in and immediately supplanted James in the rotation, the death knell of a point guard who was much more scorer than passer.

Canaan has been fantastic. A worthy backup to Ulis, his scoring has been a constant, plus his passing has expanded the offense of the reserves.
