Ulis ended last season looking like a potential point guard of the future. Starting the final games of the season after Eric Bledsoe was benched, he not only put up fantastic numbers, but made a still talked about game-winning 3-pointer against Isaiah Thomas and the Boston Celtics, propelling both his stature with the franchise and his expectations, sky high.

However, this season has been nothing but a disappointment. He has not only failed to reach the statistical levels that he ended with last season, but his shooting has yet to improve beyond his unexpectedly poor shooting numbers from his rookie year.

I certainly do not think that this is a make or break year for him, nor do I think he is a ‘bust’ on any level. His stature will always be a hindrance and his age and lack of experience is nothing to ignore.

That being said, the lack of overall improvement over last season is still disappointing and is holding his midseason grade back a bit.
