The player on Brooklyn that every Suns fan wants is one of Devin Booker’s best friends, D’Angelo Russell.

Unfortunately the time to get him was probably last offseason as the Nets have made known that they have no immediate interest in trading their 23-year-old star point guard.

Russell, though, would be ideal in Phoenix, the kind of point guard that can both score 20 points and dish out 10 assists a game, which coupled with Booker would create one of the most explosive young backcourts in the league.

In order to get Russell now the Suns would have to wait until at least the trade deadline in February and hope that things have fallen apart in Brooklyn to such a degree that no one is off the table – or this summer with the same hope and expectation.

What could potentially pry him away? I have to imagine not too  much if management doesn’t think that they can necessarily build around him and want’s to look for star talent elsewhere. I would look at the better of the two Suns 2018 picks, Tyler Ulis, potentially Davon Reed, and the acquisition of Timofey Mozgov’s contract.
