How the Suns can pull off a trade for a star

I’ll keep this one short and sweet: The Spurs aren’t trading anybody that would make the Suns better. They keep winning and they do so by not trading their stars.

Last season the Spurs might have been willing to move on from LaMarcus Aldridge because of a seemingly declining skill-set, and even if they were to trade him for some reason now while he is looking more like his Portland years, his age prevents the Suns from trading anything of youth, and therefore value, for him.
