The Thunder have several stars, although only one is untouchable.

Of course, acquiring Russell Westbrook would be incredible, but there isn’t a single package – including Devin Booker – that would rip him away from Oklahoma City.

The Suns could acquire Carmelo Anthony, but there isn’t a single package that they could offer that would make any sense to them.

There is also Paul George. If the Suns offered T.J. Warren and a first round pick, don’t you think that the Thunder would listen? I’d bet anything that they would, and if they wanted more, that it wouldn’t be that  much more.

The problem is that the reason the Suns could possibly get PG-13 at that price is that George could opt out of next year’s player option and become an unrestricted free agent, and while he would look great next to Devin Booker, what are the odds that they retain his services beyond the second half of this season?

Suns fans would like to think that there is a good chance, and if we’re serious, the Lakers talk is probably significantly overblown. But the problem is that no one knows and George would be stupid to accept a trade to Phoenix with a handshake agreement that he’d re-sign.

He could be had,  but it wouldn’t be worth it.
