How the Suns can pull off a trade for a star

Victor Oladipo is probably totally untouchable. He’s having an incredible season, and nothing short of Devin Booker plus at least one first round pick would even get the Pacers’ management on the phone, something the Suns would never do.

Therefore they could look to acquire Domantas Sabonis to replace Alex Len. The problem is is that Sabonis is pretty much the same player as Len, so what’s really the upgrade? Could he ever be considered a “star”? Other than a few extra years under a rookie contract, probably not. He could potentially be acquired with a player like Josh Jackson in a one-for-one swap which the Suns would never do that, so, nope. Move on.
