Before the regular season I think we all believed that Andre Drummond could be had in a trade if someone offered him enough. Then the Pistons opened this season and are playing very well, and Drummond is having another Drummond-like year: 14.3pts, 15.0rbs, 53.4% FG, and 1.3blks (each as of 12/30).

Granted his stats are the same as they have been in recent years, but the team is overachieving based on many a preseason speculation.

Does this make him untouchable? Probably not. But the Suns would need to wait out the season a little bit and see. If the Pistons falter then they may be more apt to once again see about trading him.

The best case scenario (if McDonough see’s a future with Drummond) is Chriss, two firsts, and a swap of bad contracts, say Jon Leuer who’s contract expires after 2020, for Chandler who is up after next season, or a trade and waive re-acquisition of Greg Monroe.
