Phoenix Suns roundtable: New Year’s resolutions

Alex Len
Mr. Len should keep playing his way to “securing the bag” as those invested into pop culture would say. Last summer in the offseason, not many teams were willing to spend their millions to invest in Len. Which had him settling for the qualifying offer sheet from the Phoenix Suns prior to the start of the season. Len has played relatively well in the 2017-2018 season so far. He has given fans a reason for optimism and is progressing towards a nice pay day. Keep playing at a nice consistent level Len.
Jay Triano
My news years resolution to Jay Triano is continuing to work on fixing the team’s defense. Progress is being made on that end after a horrendous start to the season. Over the last 10 games Phoenix have held teams under 100 points four times, while having 15th best defensive rating in the league. That’s around average but again, a lot better than what was first trotted out on the court to begin the season. If the defense can continue to play at respectable levels, then Triano has earned the right to be in the conversation of becoming the permanent head coach.
Ryan McDonough
My new years resolution for Ryan McDonough is simple. Find a way to get a blue-chip prospect during the offseason. Whether it’s through the draft or via trade. It doesn’t matter if it’s Trae Young, Marvin Bagley III, Luka Doncic or DeAndre Ayton. Find a way to pair Booker with another young promising talent. Move up in the draft if you must, because this draft’s looking to be top heavy. Continue to be creative in adding talent.
Robert Sarver
My new years resolution to Suns owner Robert Sarver is to continue to let everyone do their thing. He hasn’t been so vocal compared to years past, even when the Bledsoe situation went down. With fans putting up billboards calling for him to sell the team, it’s probably best that he would remain quiet on matters for now. Letting things play out naturally is what’s best for everyone involved.
