Let’s just put this out there: The Timeline is dead and should never be revived. Long live winning.

For far too long, Suns fans have craved a taste of the playoffs again. Sure we want them to be better and do better than an 8-seed who succumbs to a sweep at the hands of a much more talented Conference pillar like the Golden State Warriors, but the opportunity to participate, to extend the season, to at least take that chance of upsetting someone, is too great and important of an experience to snub your nose at.

We too have been accepting – and occasionally eager – to lose for the opportunity of additional ping pong balls, only to time-and-time again miss out on drafting the truly best players at the top of the lottery.

It is time for Robert Sarver and Ryan McDonough to take the rebuild into their own hands, and out of the hands of luck, chance, and Adam Silver. It is time to find those pieces, available to be had throughout the league, that can once again help make the Phoenix Suns Great Again.

Believe it or not, I believe that not only can DeAndre Jordan be a piece of that puzzle, that he can be had, but that he should be acquired now.
