Don’t get me wrong, this could very well be a pipe dream. I may just want the franchise to turn around so badly that I am imagining things. But there are a few signs here that actually do point to the possibility that Robert Sarver is preparing to sell the Phoenix Suns.

For nearly 50 years the Phoenix Suns have been part of the fabric of this community. While they have no league championships to speak of, their success has been nearly unparalleled in the world of North American sports, and the history that they have enjoyed in the Arizona is one that dreams are made of.

That’s why these past eight non-playoff seasons, in which the team often cannot seem to get out of it’s own way, is so depressing and difficult to swallow. The Phoenix Suns, once the crown jewel sports franchise of the city of Phoenix, is as tarnished as a stone found in the street, and even when a glimmer of hope is found when buffed up, the fear that more soot will soon cause that glimmer to fade, keeps us from ever truly feeling all that optimistic.

This likely will not continue in perpetuity, and certainly can all change for the better this season alone. If the franchise makes the right decisions moving forward there is no reason to believe that within the next year or so they will be back in the conversation as one of the best-run franchises in the league.

The question I have for you though, is: Will Robert Sarver be the owner of the franchise when that happens?

There have been a few clues that lead to this as being a possibility, and I must implore you to realize that they are nothing more than subtle clues that could very well be taken out of context to help me piece this together. But if I am reading these right, there might be a chance that the Phoenix Suns will be in different hands in the near future, and the franchise might, in turn, be back on a winning track.
