Dan Majerle:

Let’s get this one out of the way. Dan Majerle is not only the most obvious candidate, but the one that the vast majority of Suns fans wish to see roaming the sidelines ASAP. I know that he is your top candidate. Heck, he’s mine too. That’s why he’s first on this list. The odds of that happening appears to be relatively thin, however, he is still absolutely worth discussing.

Historically the Suns have done a terrible job maintaining in-house talent. When they passed over Thunder Dan in order to hire Lindsey Hunter, they lost one of the top coaching talents in the league. While it’s unknown if Dan can jump back into the big leagues, he has a proven record of winning which helps take some of the unknown out of the equation. Hiring Majerle rights a historic wrong, would play well with the fan base, and puts a guy who values defense in the drivers seat.
