OUT – Eric Bledsoe and Tyson Chandler
IN – JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, Channing Frye and Brooklyn Nets’ 1st

Why would the Cavs do this?  They just traded for Isaiah Thomas and signed Derrick Rose in the offseason. Well, Thomas is already injured and Rose is an injury waiting to happen based on his history. LeBron is very good friends with Bledsoe and would be very happy with him on board. Also, Tyson is a very solid rebounder as he finished 8th in the league in that category last year and is very efficient around the rim. He is also a natural center and could let Kevin Love slide back to his own natural PF spot. Cleveland also sheds JR Smith’s and Iman Shumpert’s contracts as they’ve been looking to do.

Why would the Suns do this?  Smith adds needed firepower. Shumpert adds needed defense. Frye is a good vet for this young team and his contract expires at the end of the year giving Phoenix around $3M extra spending money. The true prize in this deal and the reason why the Suns would take on Smith and Shumpert’s deals is Brooklyn’s first round pick. This will give the Suns two early lottery picks and help jump start this rebuild in style.
