Devin Booker is the best shooting guard prospect in the NBA
"Among the young prospects at his position, I think Booker is the best all-around scorer. He can score out of pick-and-rolls and isolations. He can catch-and-shoot. He has all those levels and layers. . . ."
This scout believes that Devin Booker is the best all-around scoring shooting guard prospect in the league, not just on the Suns. This is truly high praise, and very fortunate for Phoenix who is currently centering the building of their franchise around he and his talents.
The hope, like the other comment, is that Booker will be a top five shooting guard in the league. And maybe he truly needs to be that highly rated for the Suns to make a championship run at some point in the near future. Regardless, as a star player on a team and a highly regarded prospect at any position, the fact that Book has yet to reach the legal age of purchasing alcohol (although that day is October 30), he has nothing but time to raise his game to levels that the franchise and it’s fans can so far only dream of.
If Booker can particularly add the additional defensive dimension to his game, coupled with his developing offense, he can be a very well-rounded player. Hopefully at some point he too can average about 40% from beyond the arc which will make him that much better, but it is his defense that will truly catapult him into the upper echelon of NBA shooting guards.
