The team roster and personnel weren’t the only things that changed for the Suns. Phoenix hired Kevin Ray to be the new local play-by-play announcer on Fox Sports. Ray will replace Steve Albert who retired from the position after serving in that capacity for the past five seasons. Ray has served as the team’s sideline reporter and has called Suns games in the past, so he is already familiar with the franchise and its players.

For the 2017-18 NBA season, the Suns will be celebrating their 50th anniversary as a franchise. To commemorate this special season, the team debuted a new logo that will be featured throughout the upcoming year. According to Bleacher Report’s Phoenix Suns Insider Twitter account, the logo may also be featured on the Suns home court.

Lastly, thanks to new NBA apparel sponsor Nike, the team revealed new jerseys for the coming season. The Suns will have five different jerseys this season. The first two jerseys introduced were the team’s Association and Icon Editions. These are the new white and purple jerseys that the team will be using for either home or away games.

The team presented their Statement Edition jersey at NikexNBA. This will serve as the team’s new black jersey. The Suns will debut these jerseys on Nov. 24, better known to some as Black Friday.

During the team’s Slam Dunk at 50 celebration, the Suns released a sneak peak of their Classic Edition uniforms. This will pay homage to the team’s original white home jersey. Along with the aforementioned jerseys, the team will unveil their Community Edition jersey later this fall.

The team’s new threads and 50th season celebration will definitely excite the fan base. By combining aspects from both their past and present, the team is ready to introduce the next iteration of Suns basketball.
