One of the fastest rising stars in the league saw his NBA rating increase by nearly double digits. Coming off a season where he joined Wilt Chamberlain, David Robinson, Elgin Baylor, Kobe Bryant, and David Thompson as players to have scored at least 70 points in a game, all of which are Hall of Famers.

The consensus among fans is that Booker is a baller and that the rating is justified. However, there are fans who are opposed to a rating that puts him on the same tier as C.J. McCollum, Joel Embiid, and Kristaps Porzingis. He is also rated higher than League understood superstars Carmelo Anthony, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Andre Drummond.

There is a lot to like about Booker. He has infused excitement into the Valley of the Suns. Fans haven’t felt this way about a player in quite some time. However, is it fair to say he’s the same as C.J. McCollum? Is he better than Carmelo?

The answer is no to both questions. And we aren’t even talking about hoodie Melo who might have Michael Jordan shaking in his own shoes.

An 83 could be appropriate here. No worries though, he can still threaten Wilt’s record in the game.
