SMALL FORWARD
STARTER: EDDIE JOHNSON
Eddie Johnson came to the Suns in a trade with the Sacramento Kings in 1987 and played a total of four seasons in Phoenix 1987-91. While with the Suns he averaged 18.4 PPG, 2.1 APG and 4.1 RPG while shooting 48% from the field and 36% from three. A 3-point specialist in his NBA career, Johnson won the franchise’s first Sixth Man of the year award in 1989 as part of one of the biggest two-year record turnaround in NBA History. In November 11, 1989, Johnson scored 43 points in the second half of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, a record for individual points in a half that still stands.
Even for all of his statistical accolades, Johnson is probably most known now for being the commentator for the Suns local TV broadcasts.
