The D-Backs are having a fantastic season. Currently, they are sitting in one of the two coveted National League wild card spots, along with their division rival, Colorado Rockies.

When compared to the rest of baseball, the Diamondbacks are a relatively new franchise. The team played its first season in 1998.

Since that inaugural season, the team has had a good deal of stability at the ownership position. Current owner Ken Kendrick, only the team’s second ever majority owner, has been in charge of the club for over 13 years. Say what you will about some of his decision-making, the Diamondbacks have certainly had some quality seasons under Kendrick.

Shifting our focus to more recent history, this past offseason looks to have been one of the most productive in Diamondbacks history. The old General Manager and team Manager were fired and Mike Hazen and Torrey Lovullo were both brought in to replace them.

Between these managerial changes, a 2001 World Series title and recent success, the Diamondbacks have been and continue to be one of the top franchises in Arizona.
