Phoenix Suns: The Top 5 Games fans should look forward to this 2017-2018 season
By Alex Vairo
Houston Rockets – Jan. 12, 2018
The Phoenix Suns’ first ESPN game comes on January 12th against the Houston Rockets at Talking Stick Resort. The game is also a homecoming for James Harden, the former Arizona State University guard. Sun Devil fans still adore Harden to this day despite him last playing at ASU in 2009 . James continues to show love for his alma mater by playing pick up ball with ASU players in July. Harden has continued to maintain an active presence in the Valley making him a fan favorite opponent of the Suns.
Booker will look to prove his worth going against Harden in one of game’s main match-ups.
Booker is the future of the off-guard position who, like Harden, is able to score and set up his teammates. One area that Booker should take away from Harden’s game is getting to the free throw line. That will make Booker an even bigger threat on the offensive end. This game will be an interesting test to see how much Booker has grown as he and the Suns reach the halfway point of the season.
At the other guard position, Eric Bledsoe will face his former mentor in Chris Paul. Bledsoe is coming off a season where he posted career highs in points, assists, and free throws made per game. Looking to continue his steady improvement against his former teammate will be fun to watch. Fans of offensive basketball will also be pleased to see former Suns coach Mike D’Antoni and his high octane offense. This Suns versus Rockets game should be in the 110-120 point range when all is said and done.
