This 2017-18 Suns roster may be the most young, exciting squad in the entire league.

Over the past season or so, the Phoenix Suns have clearly been shifting from a more veteran-heavy roster to a youth oriented group. To illustrate, last season ten players under the age of 25 received double digit minutes per game. Plus, Devin Booker (only 20-years-old) led the team with 35 minutes per game.

With all this in mind, let’s take some time in this oh-so-long offseason to dive a little deeper into the depth of the youth of the team. Between the more established Devin Booker, the developing Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender, the steady Tyler Ulis, the promising Davon Reed, the unknown Alec Peters, and the exciting Derrick Jones Jr. this team is stacked with young talent.

Last week, we looked at a projected 2017-18 rotation. Now, we are going take a minute to rank, with projected statistics included (points, assists, rebounds) some of these young Suns according to their potential. For the sake of argument and according to Google, potential will be defined as:

Potential: having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future.

Most of the older players in the league have already finished developing their skills and have likely already reached their potential. So, in order not to skew the rankings, we are only going to be looking at the players who are 22 and under. That means no T.J. Warren, Eric Bledsoe, Alan Williams, or Alex Len.

Without further ado, let’s get into it.
