"Most Surprising Player: Davon Reed – The most consistent player on the court (minus Mike James), the second round pick looked extremely comfortable as a spot up shooter. He looks extremely fit to be Booker’s backup for years to come."

– Branden Wyss

"Most Surprising: Davon Reed – Reed’s play in Summer League caught me by surprise. He seemed very poised and confident when he took the floor, showing good shooting touch from the outside. What was most surprising was Reed putting the ball on the floor and driving to the basket. Davon showed more than a typical 3 & D player and may even become a part of the Suns rotation next season as well."

– Cesar Vairo

"Most Surprising Player: Davon Reed – When Phoenix first drafted the guard from Miami with an early second round pick, many, including myself, considered it a reach. Now I believe he can be a very solid contributor for the team in the long-term. Reed shoots threes with good confidence and his long wingspan is a big plus in terms of the area he can cover on defense. The guy has a solid feel for the game. If/when the time comes this season where playing time is available, it’ll be interesting to see what he does on the court."

– Assane Drame

"Most Surprising Player: Davon Reed – Though he doesn’t have the expectations of some of the other players on the Summer League roster, he showed flashes of a skilled two-way player that appears to be in the running for biggest steal of the draft. He and Mike James were the only two Suns players to score in double-digits in all six games. We’ll see if this carries over into the regular season (most specifically, if he gets consistent minutes) and if, when on the court, he can be the kind of player who is given tough defensive assignments even as a rookie. Regardless, I could not be more excited to see if he has the skills to make regular appearances in the rotation."

– Adam Maynes

"Most Surprising Player: Davon Reed – Many were upset with the Suns for selecting Davon Reed at pick 32. That has all changed. In Vegas, Reed impressed fans and coaches alike, showing off his abilities as a very skilled 3 and D player. He demonstrated his three-point stroke throughout the Summer League, all while shutting down his man at the other end."
