A player who is being watched by both Suns fans and the national media alike is the rookie Josh Jackson. Lacking proven scorers on the summer roster, Jackson is one of the few Suns adept at creating his own shot.
Jackson has shown this ability early in Summer League. He can score from all three levels of the floor (at the basket, mid-range, and from beyond the arc). For this being his first taste of professional basketball, Jackson has shown great awareness on both ends of the floor. Jackson’s cuts to the basket fluidly and he displays a knack for getting to the free throw line.
Jackson’s jump-shot leaves a lot to be desired as it has been inconsistent at best. His shooting gets worse at the three-point line making it easy for opposing players to guard the drive instead of the shot. Look for coach Watson and the staff to make Jackson’s shooting mechanics a priority for his development in the league.
