Davon Reed

The selection of Davon Reed with the 32nd pick in the second round last week could be equally as important to the depth of the pro roster as the selection of Tyler Ulis was last year. Suns fans should look to see how consistent Reed’s outside shot is as an indication of him making an impact during the regular season. However, it will be how strong a defender he is this summer that will give an indication as to how many minutes he may receive backing up Devin Booker.

More than any other first or second year player on the Summer League Suns am I looking forward to watching Reed. For someone who many speculated could have been had late in the second round (although Ryan McDonough did believe he was gone within five picks of 32), his two-way ability could end up making him the steal of the draft.
