Early Expectations for the Suns Summer League
By Adam Maynes
The Roster
Tyler Ulis
It is disappointing that Tyler Ulis will not be able to join the Summer Suns on the court in Las Vegas as I believe that he above all others could have dominated the league the way Devin Booker did in his two games last summer. After taking the reins of the Suns for the final quarter of the regular season, he likely would have tasted blood in the Vegas water and dominated the opposition from beginning to end.
However, more importantly than Summer League games is his health. Regardless of what the Suns decide to do with Eric Bledsoe, Ulis will have a significant role on the roster next season and will assuredly be counted on to start at least on occasion throughout the year, while maintaining his role as Bledsoe’s primary backup. Making sure that his right ankle is in tip-top shape after minor ankle surgery is paramount to Phoenix’s continued growth moving forward.
