9th Pick

The Suns more than likely aren’t ready to give up on Dragan Bender after just half a year more or less. However, if Dallas offers the 9th pick, plus an unprotected 1st rounder in the next few years, Phoenix might be willing to listen. Dallas projects to be pretty bad for a while, unless they somehow construct a super team through free agency the next year or two. Dallas gets a young, talented big man with lots of upside. He gets to learn under Dirk for one year as well, which is certainly enticing.

66. . Power Forward. Arizona. Lauri Markannen. 9. player

If the Suns trade Bender to Dallas, it is probably because they fall in love with Lauri Markannen. Lauri has huge offensive upside, and is arguably the best shooter in this draft, big man or not. He is a bigger, more athletic Ryan Anderson. He’s a little better of a rebounder than Anderson as well. The downside is that he’s just as abysmal defensively as Anderson is. However, he will stretch the floor and open up the pain for the likes of Devin Booker and Eric Bledsoe. That’s definitely a tantalizing thought for Phoenix.
