18th Pick

The Suns get the 18th pick in the draft, as well as the contract of Monta Ellis. Ellis is still a serviceable guard, and he’d be a nice scorer off the bench to spell Book. In return, the Pacers get Brandon Knight, a young, controllable guard who could either start for them or be the 6th man off the bench, as well as three 2nd round picks to add depth at the position. If the Pacers don’t particularly like anyone here, a deal like this would make sense for both sides.

Barcelona II. Rodions Kurucs. 18. player. 66. . Small Forward

It is probably more likely that Kurucs would continue to play in Europe for another year or two. While he could be of some use to Phoenix next year, he’d be most valuable as either an asset for a future trade, or an eventual replacement for TJ Warren if Warren commands too much money in 2018 free agency. Kurucs has a lot of skill and natural tools to succeed in the NBA. He mostly needs more experience against better competition, and a year or two more overseas would certainly help with that.
