20th Pick

Portland makes this move to get rid of Evan Turner’s monster of a contract, and get back a decent pick next year. In return, the Suns get two late 1st rounders in this draft in exchange for taking on Turner’s contract. Whether they’d keep him or buy him out would depend on what happened at the 4th pick. Miami could easily be a playoff team next year, and the pick doesn’t project to be as good as people originally thought going into 2017. However, Portland needs cap relief, and getting rid of Turner gets rid of almost $18 million.

Creighton. Justin Patton. 20. player. 66. . Center

If the Suns do draft a center with a pick in this draft, it more than likely means the end of the Alex Len era in Phoenix. Patton offers more versatility than Len, and the Suns won’t have to pay him for at least 3 years, if he turns out being good enough to garner an extension in the first place. Patton would be a good value pick here.
