2006, 27th Pick

Career Stats:

4.9 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 3.4 APG, 40.9% FG

Who The Suns Should Have Taken:

Paul Millsap, Forward, Louisiana Tech – Originally taken by the Utah Jazz with the 47th overall pick

Career Stats:

837 GP, 14.2 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.3 APG, 49.3% FG

Sergio Rodriguez was traded to the Blazers on draft day, and never suited up for the Suns. He had a fantastic career overseas, and an average career in the NBA. Paul Millsap would have been a great player for the Suns here. While he was a slow developing player, he peaked right around the time that Amare Stoudemire left for free agency. The Suns made several terrible signings that offseason to compensate for losing Amare. Perhaps having Millsap could have kept the Suns from making those mistakes.
