Who The Suns Took:

Casey Jacobsen, Small Forward/Shooting Guard, Stanford

Career Stats:

287 GP, 5.2 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 1.1 APG, 39.3% FG

Who The Suns Should Have Taken:

Carlos Boozer, Power Forward, Duke – Originally taken by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 34th overall pick

Career Stats:

861 GP, 16.2 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 2.2 APG, 52.1% FG

While Jacobsen is now a contributing member of the Suns’ TV broadcast team, he never had a very big impact on the court, and only played four seasons in the NBA. Carlos Boozer was easily the best available player in the draft class, and is arguably only behind Amare and Yao in career productivity. He was a physical, tenacious forward who could have definitely helped the Suns in their playoff wars with the Spurs, Lakers, and Mavericks of the mid-2000’s.
