2007, 29th Pick

Who The Suns Took:

Alando Tucker, Small Forward/Shooting Guard, Wisconsin

Career Stats:

51 GP, 4.1 PPG, 1.0 RPG, 0.3 APG, 42.3% FG

Who The Suns Should Have Taken:

Marc Gasol, Center, Spain – Originally taken by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 48th overall pick

Career Stats:

643 GP, 14.9 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 3.2 APG, 49.6% FG

Alando Tucker only played three seasons in the NBA. He didn’t add much to the team, nor the league. Gasol could have changed the Suns franchise. While a bit of a late bloomer, Gasol is currently a top-five center in the NBA, and would have given Phoenix a face of the franchise once Nash left, though most importantly, a great piece to pair with him while he was here.
