Examining a Suns 3-on-3 team vs NBA lottery teams

Joel Embiid, Dario Saric , Ben Simmons, & Robert Covington

Assuming all parties are healthy, this might be the toughest matchup the Suns have.

Embiid can rebound, protect the paint/perimeter, and score in/out. Ben Simmons will be an issue as well. He is not going to shoot from the outside much or at all but he doesn’t need to. I imagine that his job would be to primarily facilitate. Making life easier for everyone involved getting Saric and Embiid great looks.

Saric also provides a shooting touch and often looks confident on the court. Covington of course can provide exceptional defense.

This matchup could end up being competitive but the Sixers overwhelming size and the versatility included with that size might be too much for the Suns to handle.

It depends on how Chandler and Williams would do on the perimeter when running out there. If they can’t hold their own in that aspect, then the matchup could get out of hand.
